The project aims to bring together Polish and Hungarian master craftspeople and young creators through joint international and intergenerational workshops. Its central concept is the transmission and contemporary reinterpretation of traditional craft knowledge. Masters from older generations will share their techniques, stories and professional experience, while young creators will combine these traditions with contemporary forms of artistic expression, including digital and other modern approaches.
A key objective of the project is to preserve, transmit and place Polish and Hungarian traditional craft knowledge within a new cultural context. Particular emphasis is placed on intergenerational learning, connecting folk crafts with contemporary art, and strengthening both professional and personal relationships between Polish and Hungarian creators.

Project Activities
International Craft Workshop in Łowicz
Polish and Hungarian master craftspeople and young creators will participate in the workshop. The planned areas of expertise include embroidery, felting, lace-making, woodworking and leatherworking. The Hungarian masters will focus particularly on embroidery, crafts using sedge and reeds, and woodworking and woodcarving. During the workshop, master craftspeople and young creators will work in Polish–Hungarian pairs. The five-day workshop is planned as follows: the first day will be dedicated to introductions and preparation; two days will focus on creative work; one day will be devoted to intercultural dialogue and the presentation of traditions; and the final day will include a cultural programme, evaluation and reflection in Łowicz. The programme will also include intercultural education, presentations of Polish and Hungarian heritage, and joint discussions of the works created during the workshop.
Travelling Exhibition and Community Programmes
The outcomes of the workshop will be presented in four cities: Łęczyca, Opoczno, Piotrków Trybunalski and Sieradz. The exhibition will be the central element of each event, complemented by live demonstrations, smaller craft workshops, presentations, meetings with local creators, and programme elements showcasing Hungarian craft traditions.
Bilingual E-catalogue
One of the project’s tangible outcomes will be an electronic catalogue presenting the project concept, the participating creators, the techniques used and the works produced. The catalogue will be published in Polish and Hungarian and made available on both partners’ websites.
